I was so excited to hear from my Mom today. She and my Aunt went through my Grandma's things which have been in storage since 2002! There were so many treasures - family Bibles, cookbooks, Grandpa's sermon notes (he was a pastor), Grandma's steno books where she kept all kinds of quotes and notes, every single teaching contract she ever had, jewelry... and even something as mundane as an apple box! My Mom remembers as a kid in the 50s receiving one of these boxes of fruit from a vendor of her Daddy's carpentry business. She said it was a huge treat to open the box of specially wrapped fruits each time it came. Grandma, ever resourceful, recycled the box and used it for storage. The photo is my Mom and Aunt looking at photos. The worst part is that my Mom is almost 900 miles away and I have to WAIT!!! lol I created the page using Jean Daugherty's Apple Hill kit, which is so gorgeous!
