This is my great great Grandmother who was born in Upper Canada soon after her parents arrived from County Cavan, Ireland. She died when my great Grandfather was a toddler. Amazingly, considering the time period, through a distant cousin, I was able to find these two photos of her. The layout was created using my portion of the Irish Linen Collab for the March font challenge at Heritage Scrap.

Fantastic layout! I was struggling with that rocky background but this is the perfect way to use it! I always have to stop and think too when someone mentions *Upper* Canada. Upper usually implies North to people now days but back in the day, it actually meant *up the river*; the river in this case being the St. Lawrence. So Upper Canada is actually Ontario, close to Michigan and Lake Erie. Lower Canada was lower down the river in Quebec. Upper and Lower Egypt and Mississippi Valley are two that really throw me off!
